Yoga Classes

I am currently teaching two gentle, slow yoga classes, both online via Zoom, on a Monday and Friday, 9.00 – 10.15 a.m.

You are warmly welcome to join us. I have successfully integrated beginners into the group and others have been enjoying yoga for years (right up to our 86 year old!), so whatever your experience, the best way to know if it is for you is to try and so I invite everyone to enjoy their first session for free having been in contact with me first. You are welcome to get in touch via the Contact page to explore further.

If you decide to join us, classes are booked in a block of seven @ £49.

We are friendly group of eleven, most of whom attend both Monday and Friday, to take advantage of the benefits of the two different types of class on offer, one targetting the deeper tissues, the other targetting the muscles (see below) – bringing balance to the body. Please note, two classes are not a requirement.

Monday – Yang Yoga – this is the more traditional Hatha based asana (meaning posture) practice that develops muscular strength, stamina and flexibility. The last fifteen minutes is given to sitting to breathe, find stillness and then to rest for some minutes in Savasana (a total relaxation pose).

Friday – Yin Yoga – a slower, more meditative practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense connective tissues and joints in the body.

Please see What’s that then? for more information.

T.K.V Desikachar, renowned yoga teacher said: “Anyone can breathe, therefore anyone can do yoga”.

I encourage people to come as they are, to not try too hard and most importantly, to enjoy the precious time on the sanctuary of their mat.
